What to Expect

Step back in time and enjoy a Victorian tea room.

The tea is poured, the courses come out one after another, and nobody hurries you along. The table is yours.

Some people dress for it. You don't have to.

She cooks all of it. $25 per head, about three hours at the table. Ask about the menu when you call.

Lace, crystal, gold flatware. No two teacups alike, and she chooses which one goes where.

My Story

She found this afternoon in someone else's tea room and brought it home to give away.

In her own words, from the card she reads to her guests

This home was built in 1941, by my parents and neighbors. My parents married on Thanksgiving Day of the same year. I am the third child of twelve, nine girls and three boys. The first three children were born in this house. Doctor Stalker came, from Borden, by way of horse and buggy.

From little on I liked the Victorian decor and the long dresses and hats. I have been a farmer, hairdresser, nurse aide, and I am currently part owner of All About Taste catering.

Recently I spent three weeks in Florida with some dear friends. We had lunch in an old Victorian home, dating back to the 1800's. The tea room was called, Lavender and Lace. It took me back into Victorian time. I loved it so much it inspired me to decorate my dining room like the tea room. I wanted my family and friends to have this Victorian experience.

Made in This House

Nothing arrives in a van. The bread, the sandwiches and the cakes are made by hand in the kitchen on this property, and when the table is full there are more hands in it.
